To increase career experience for students, Hoa Sen University not only organizes playgrounds but also creates conditions and accompanies them at playgrounds at home and abroad.

From academic playgrounds to talent competitions

Recently, the Science and Technology Innovation Competition “Innovation Tech Challenge 2023” within the framework of the Technology Talent Development Project – Samsung Innovation Campus 2022 – 2023 (SIC) took place in Hanoi. The competition selected 14 teams from across the country to participate.

SIC is a cooperation program between Samsung and the Faculty of Information Technology – Hoa Sen University named Samsung Innovation Campus for young students (14-24 years old). The program organizes courses on the Internet of Things – (Internet of Things – IoT); Artificial Intelligence – (AI); Big Data – (BigData). Hoa Sen University is the only school in the South that has implemented this project in the past 3 years. After each course, SIC will organize a competition for all participants nationwide from North to South.

This year, representatives of HSU Faculty of Information Technology have 2 teams including: Cheetah team including Tran Quoc Tuan, Do Thanh Hung, Lam Xuan Hung, Nguyen Hoang Lam Anh and Leopath team including Dinh Quoc Cuong, Ta Minh Duc, Nguyen Minh Khoi, Huynh The Bao.

At the competition, the team’s task is to perfect 2 competing robots, in which: 1 self-propelled robot is fully controlled by an automatic system, without any human impact during the performance of tasks on the field. 1 remote control robot, by wireless communication and controlled by only one team member.
With 2 products, 1 motorized robot with the task of siege and 1 control robot with the task of pushing horses, HSU’s Cheetah team excellently won 3rd prize, Team Leopath won the Consolation prize of the competition.

Also in August, Nguyen Vu Minh Thang – HSU English Language student became the Champion of the contest “Our Voice – Our Choice” 2023. “Our Voice – Our Choice” is a contest for all young people who are passionate about speaking and hosting programs across the country.

The contest is coordinated and accompanied by Saigon Young TV and MIC Academy – Educational Academy in the field of Skills – Language training. The contest has created a playground to help those who love hosting overcome their limits and assert themselves through their meaningful stories.

After more than two months of official launch, the finale of “Our Voice Our Choice” took place with the competition of TOP 8 contestants. With the story idea of standing between listening to yourself to be yourself and obeying your parents to be filial, Minh Thang brought a test that combined drama and hosting. The performance conquered the judges and helped Thang become the champion of “Our Voice – Our Choice” in 2023. Minh Thang is also a familiar bilingual MC at HSU events and activities.

Affirming the quality of training for the hosbility industry

At the same time, Hoa Sen University students have put their names on the journey to conquer the “Dat Sen Hong Tour Master” Contest. Organized to seek impressive tourism development ideas in the digital age, the contest has attracted the participation of a series of big names in the tourism, media and technology industry with the sponsorship of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Thap province.

With a journey lasting nearly 2 months, Pham Diem Kieu, Vo Nguyen Bao My, Nguyen Thanh Phuoc – HSU Travel and Tourism Service Management students have overcome many challenges and entered the final round with 5 leading universities in Ho Chi Minh City. With a unique solution called “Tap to Tip and AI Review”, representatives from HSU made a strong impression on the judges and won the Second Prize of the contest.

Following the good news, Phan Hai Chau – HSU alumnus has won the 3rd prize of the international good reception competition 2023. World’s Best Receptionist competition is an international receptionist competition organized annually by The AICR – Association of Hotel and Lobby Management, established in 1964 in France. This contest has attracted the participation of hundreds of front desk professionals from all over the world.

After the impressive rounds, Hai Chau shined in the case processing round with the evaluation of the judges from Australia, the UK and Singapore. With knowledge and skills from studying and working, Hai Chau overcame challenges to achieve the 3rd prize of the competition. The top 3 winners of the 2023 World’s Best Receptionist competition will be able to attend the event in Niche, France in February 2024.

Hai Chau shared her feelings: “I believe that things that come from the heart will go to the heart and customers are the ones who feel it the most. The competition is a step for me when I dare to step out of my comfort zone and collide with contestants from many countries, which helps me learn more and have a strong belief in the path I choose.”

The achievements of the students once again affirm the training quality of Hoa Sen University. At the same time, it is a testament to the creative, professional and brave spirit of generations of Hoa Sen students.
