Long Tu Nhu is studying in Germany

Awarded scholarship for good performance at HSU

At the 41st graduation ceremony, Long Tu Nhu was the only one of the 21 valedictorian majors who could not attend because she was stuck in the schedule of studying for a Master’s degree in Germany. Although she could not attend the ceremony, with her excellent academic achievements and the title of Valedictorian of the field, Tu Nhu won a 25% Master of Business Administration scholarship from Germany’s Hochschule Macromedia University of Applied Science.

“Hoa Sen has helped me prove that the learning environment is really important and I am proud that I am learning in a perfectly good environment. I have the opportunity to gain access to new knowledge, especially working with friends who have somehow been present at my very special personal events.”

Tu Nhu shared, the scholarship she achieved is only for applications with a high GPA. And with GPA: 3.71/4.0 at HSU (converted to GPA above 90%), Nhu received this scholarship.

Nhu shared: “In Germany, the education system is different from Vietnam, so to continue to study at the next level in Germany must be considered, the application process is also stressful. The system must see if the school I studied in Vietnam is on the approved list. Otherwise, students must study at university again if they want to study for a master’s degree. After that, the credit will be converted to see if the major or subject is eligible for application. However, with a degree from Hoa Sen University, I can integrate and be accepted to study for a master’s degree in Germany without any paperwork.”

Tu Nhu chose HSU because of the international learning environment and many opportunities to study for an international Master’s degree abroad.

Journey to the world

Talking about the path to realizing her dream, she said: “Before becoming a Hoa Sen student, it took me 3 years to try and choose what was truly for me, from school to major. At that time, my peers were graduating and going to work, while I was still struggling to find a suitable place for myself. There, there is also everyone’s doubt because my own choices are almost against the crowd. But I have proven that we don’t have to be like anyone else. Each person will have different ways of going. It’s okay to be a little slow, but as long as you still reach your destination and don’t lose yourself.”

Tu Nhu and her teammates won first prize in the debate competition “Enjoy responsibly because someone needs you 2022” organized by HSU.

As a finance student but not wanting to be stereotyped around numbers, Tu Nhu has participated in many school and faculty activities. Among them are: Head of the Sponsorship Committee of the HSUNiK 2020-2021 competition; First prize in the debate competition “Enjoy responsibly because someone needs you 2022”; “The Professional Financial Analyst 2023?contest?/p>

It is also the open learning environment and improving English at HSU and participating in activities that have helped Long Tu Nhu easily integrate with international friends in Germany: “My classmates all use English.” English is my second language so I don’t feel there is a gap in using language with people. I always feel happy when I go to school, because this will help me gain confidence and not be timid because I am far from home or small.”

Nhu also revealed, there are things she doesn’t know, her friends share. But there are also things her friends have not found the answer to but are inadvertently the forte of Nhu so she can contribute. “That’s why I went to school to exchange and learn from each other, I didn’t feel “ashamed” because of the knowledge I didn’t have access to, but instead felt lucky that I had a knowledge defect when I went to school. The teachers here are very cute and psychological. Learning focuses a lot on practice, so now teachers come as a “partner” to listen and share knowledge.”

Wish Tu Nhu always success with her plans!

Hoa Sen Go Global may be the first trip abroad to the world for many students after nearly 20 years of studying domestically and being cared for by their families. Therefore, this is also an opportunity for them to make new friends, become more independent and open-minded.

HSUers explore Kuala Lumpur at night, making many new friends from the trip.

HSU also organized a small birthday party for Minh Doan right in Malaysia. “This is my first birthday away from home and especially in another country. I feel very surprised when the teachers and friends in Hoa Sen remember and help me have a special birthday like this”, Doan shared.

To enter the international environment at HSU, in addition to foreign languages, it is extremely important to understand the culture, lifestyle and working style in foreign environments. This is a valuable opportunity for HSU students to experience and learn to continue promoting the spirit of international integration for future study and work activities, so that they are more confident for further “flights” to France, USA, Germany… as students and alumni have been.

After exploring Ho Chi Minh City, they were at HSU to meet teachers and students of Sen House. Not only learning about the majors and interesting experiential activities at HSU, students of Singapore Polytechnic College also played the game Kahoot and especially participated in presentations on the market research process of food and beverage brands that they have cooperated with HSU students for more than 1 week.

News – Đại học Hoa Sen //e-sexcash.com/en/5-tips-for-hunting-canadian-scholarships-from-english-language-students-and-bilingual-mcs-of-hsu/ Sun, 10 Mar 2024 09:31:23 +0000 //e-sexcash.com/?p=26680 With good foreign language skills, Phan Minh Anh – a 4th year student majoring in English Language is not only a bilingual MC of many events at HSU, he also “wins” many exchange scholarships abroad. The most recent is the ASEAN-Canada Scholarship (SEED Scholarship) of Centennial College (Canada).

Phan Minh Anh ?HSU English Language student

Phan Minh Anh has just finished a semester of more than 4 months at Centennial College ?Top 4 largest public colleges in Canada with 47,000 students. To study here, Minh Anh went through a stressful scholarship review process. He is one of 5 Asian students and the only Vietnamese student to recieve a Centennial scholarship in the fall 2023 semester.

Below are some experiences that Minh Anh has distilled and wants to share so that more and more other students have the opportunity to study abroad.

  1. Good English skills

To hunt for scholarships, the prerequisite is foreign language. Minh Anh shared, thanks to studying English major at HSU, the process of studying and presenting in English since the first year, he has been equipped with enough English for his study abroad journey. “I was also supported by lecturers from HSU’s Department of International Languages – Cultures to write a very detailed letter of recommendation. Furthermore, the staff in the International Cooperation Department are also very supportive in the process of preparing the necessary documents and nominating scholarships.”

2. The essay is meticulous

Sharing about the scholarship review process, Minh Anh said that most scholarships require an essay presenting motivation, in addition to a letter of recommendation from lecturer or workplace manager. Therefore, Minh Anh’s advice for students is to take the time to carefully prepare your essay, look at the scholarship selection criteria and list your strengths, then write and reread as many times as possible. “You can also ask former scholarship scholars or teachers to review it to give advice, as well as edit the essay to make it perfect and convincing.”

Minh Anh captures moments while studying at Centennial College (Canada)

3. Good letters of recommendation from teachers

In addition to essays, good letters of recommendation from teachers also contribute greatly to building the credibility and success of your study abroad application. “Always show your openness and ability to your teachers during the learning process when you have the opportunity. The teachers are always ready to help write letters of recommendation, especially the teachers at HSU are extremely enthusiastic.”. Thanks to his active participation in school and faculty activities, especially in leading bilingual programs and connecting international students to study at the school, Minh Anh is loved by many teachers at HSU.

Check in with Canadian students at school.

4. Understand clearly the type of scholarship and school you want to attend

In addition, with the experience of “hunting” scholarships for a long time, Minh Anh shared that there are many types of scholarships with different criteria, so knowing yourself and the scholarship criteria you are aiming for makes it easier for you to achieve your goals. Besides good academics, participating in extracurricular activities is also very important. Therefore, balance excellent academic achievements and participation in other social activities to make your application more outstanding and convincing.

Minh Anh participated in activities with Vietnamese students in Canada

5. Don’t give up

The message that Minh Anh wants to send to students who also want to hunt for scholarships to study abroad is: “Luck Is What Happens When Preparation Meets Opportunity? Minh Anh said that before “winning” the ASEAN-Canada scholarship, he was also “failed” many other scholarships. “The element of luck is also very important in applying for a scholarship. I was also rejected by other scholarship funds before receiving this scholarship. So don’t give up, but always prepare yourself with the necessary skills and documents to apply for scholarships, so that when the opportunity comes, you’ll be ready to seize it immediately,” the English Language student shared.

The experience of studying in Canada is one of the wonderful memories of Minh Anh’s 4 years at university. Making friends with many other international students, experiencing the festivals and cultural activities of the land of maple leaves, and the world’s top education has helped him turn a new page in his journey to adulthood. In particular, the academic environment and friendliness of teachers in Canada are extremely friendly and open. The knowledge and relationships gained during the last semester of study are the tools for Minh Anh to continue pursuing his educational path.

As a Hoa Sen student, fully equipped with knowledge and social skills, diversity embrace, experiential learing, I always try my best and there are 3 things that have helped me overcome that: Courage to face and not be afraid of failure; Take advantage of youth and don’t be too concerned about prejudices; Expand “networking”. Today’s version of myself is the summation of the whole process of 4 years studying at HSU. It’s time to close and move on to a new chapter – a chapter about the vast world out there.”

Associate Professor, Dr. Vo Thi Ngoc Thuy and Dr. Madan Mohan Sethi – Consulate General of India honored the School’s valedictorian – Tran Phan Bao My.

In addition to the valedictorian, this HSU graduation also has two outstanding students graduating with dual degrees. Among them, student Tran Thi Bich Lien graduated with double exellent certificates: English Language (GPA: 3.78/4.0) and Psychology (GPA: 3.8/4.0).

Vo Thi Trang Tho students graduated early with dual degrees within 4 years (5-year training program) including: Psychology with excellent grades (GPA 3:60/4:0) and Human Resource Management with excellent grades (GPA: 3:59/4:0). Tho is also valedictorian of Psychology major.

Sharing about receiving the dual degree, Trang Tho said: “When I received this news, I was very surprised and happy because I did not pay too much attention to grades, I always tried to learn to gain as much knowledge as possible. Because I want to complete my dual degree program within 4 years, on average I have to study about 8-9 subjects per semester and do not take breaks in extra semesters. That is also the reason that I do not have as much time to participate in many activities in Hoa Sen as other students.”

Nguyen Vietnam – Valedictorian of the Management Information Systems major, representing the new graduates attending the morning ceremony, spoke with an extremely “gen Z” style.

A departure to the world

With the orientation of being a world class university for Vietnamese students, Hoa Sen University is constantly innovating its study programs, creating conditions for students to study and exchange, practice and work at domestic and foreign multinational companies. The 41st graduation ceremony witnessed many students working and studying in countries in Germany, USA, Australia … This is also a confirmation that HSU’s training quality has met the needs of the global labor market.

Therefore, this graduation ceremony is themed “The 41st Departures” with the idea of “HSU International Airport”. HSU will be an international knowledge airport, fully equipped for students to be ready to depart for flights to the world. The entire performance and inspirational speeches of the 21 valedictorians were also carried out according to this idea. Each student is a captain for the flight to realize their life’s dream. They will represent more than 1,500 new graduates to send meaningful messages before ending their 4-year journey at HSU and departing for the new “flight” of their lives.

Among the students studying and working abroad, Duong Quang Duy, a graduate of Hotel Management, flew from the US to Vietnam to attend the Graduation Ceremony. Quang Duy currently works at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel in the US. The international learning environment and bilingual training program at HSU have helped Duy easily integrate into work. “HSU introduces foreign languages into daily subjects to help students exchange and communicate in English regularly, intangible to create communication reflexes. From there, it opens up many opportunities at work. For example, from my second year, I was the Head of the Malaysian Embassy’s interpretation team at the FMCG Trade Promotion Conference. In 2020, I had the opportunity to go to the US to work as a receptionist. After 2 years, I came back and took on the position of receptionist supervisor.”
