Hoa Sen University (HSU) is thrilled to announce its participation in the prestigious Hybrid Mobility and Discipline Language (HBD) & Culture 2024 program, hosted by P2A (Passage to ASEAN), which fosters cultural understanding and language skills among universities across ASEAN countries. This program provides a unique opportunity for students to immerse themselves in cultural and linguistic exploration, working alongside peers from various ASEAN nations. It celebrates the power of language and cultural heritage as bridges for cooperation and mutual respect among young professionals and academics in Southeast Asia.
The HMD Language & Culture 2024 initiative is more than a language contest; it’s a transformative experience designed to deepen students’ cultural awareness, enhance language skills, and foster international friendship. Participants engage in a series of competitions, workshops, and collaborative activities that emphasize both linguistic proficiency and cultural insight. This program not only strengthens communication skills in a multilingual environment but also prepares students for a globalized world where cultural competence is a key to success.
HSU’s participation underlines the university’s commitment to nurturing globally minded graduates, as well as its dedication to playing a proactive role in ASEAN’s educational landscape.
Founded in 1991, HSU has become a prominent private university in Ho Chi Minh City, offering a comprehensive range of undergraduate and graduate programs. Known for its commitment to practical, career-focused education, HSU has made English instruction central to its curriculum, empowering students with language skills critical for their careers in fields like business, IT, tourism, design, and more. With over 10,000 students, HSU emphasizes hands-on learning, equipping students with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in the global workforce.
Since attaining full university status in 2006, HSU has established strong ties with international institutions through exchange programs, dual degree options, and active collaborations with foreign universities. These partnerships not only enhance academic offerings but also open doors for students to gain international experience and develop cultural competence. The HMD Language & Culture 2024 program is a natural extension of HSU’s values, providing its students with the opportunity to engage with global perspectives and contribute their unique insights on language and culture.
HSU is sending a dedicated team of 15 talented students to represent the university at HMD 2024, under the capable guidance of Ms. Tien Ngoc Nhu from the Global Engagement Office. These students were selected for their linguistic proficiency, cultural awareness, and commitment to representing HSU’s values on an international stage. This experience offers them a platform to display their knowledge of language structure, cultural nuances, and cross-cultural communication skills—skills they have honed throughout their studies at HSU.
Each student brings their unique background and passion for cultural exchange, which reflects HSU’s emphasis on producing well-rounded graduates prepared to contribute positively to the ASEAN community. The team has been actively preparing by participating in workshops, practicing language skills, and engaging in cultural discussions that enrich their understanding of both Vietnamese heritage and ASEAN cultures. Their preparation highlights their dedication and enthusiasm for representing Vietnam and HSU, and they have already demonstrated exemplary teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking.
As the final round of HMD 2024 approaches, HSU is filled with pride and excitement to witness our students making their mark in this international platform. The university community—students, faculty, and alumni alike—stand together in support of these talented individuals as they bring the spirit of HSU to the international stage. Their participation is a testament to the power of education in fostering cross-cultural friendships, understanding, and mutual respect among ASEAN nations.
At HSU, we believe that every step our students take in this journey contributes to their growth as individuals and as future leaders. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to P2A for organizing such an impactful program and to our students for their dedication and enthusiasm. Let’s rally behind Hoa Sen University’s team and cheer them on as they continue their journey in HMD Language & Culture 2024, bringing pride and honor to our university and our country!
