On September 26, in the port city of Hai Phong, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) organized the Vietnam International Partnership and Investment Conference 2024. The event gathered over 300 guests from various entities, including representatives from MOET, local authorities, diplomatic organizations, domestic and foreign educational institutions, and investors.
Representing Hoa Sen University at the conference were Dr. Phan Thi Viet Nam – Vice President and Dr. Ho Thi My Linh – Head of Global Engagement Office. The event was chaired by Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc, with the presence of Mr. Le Khac Nam – Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People’s Committee and local education department leaders.
Dr. Phan Thị Việt Nam, Vice President, and Dr. Hồ Thị Mỹ Linh, Head of Global Engagement Office at Hoa Sen University, attended the conference.
According to data updated to the end of June 2024, Vietnam has attracted 605 foreign investment projects in the education sector, with total investment capital exceeding 4.57 billion USD. Currently, about 430 international joint training programs are being implemented at 65 domestic higher education institutions. Additionally, 5 foreign-invested universities are operating in Vietnam.
The main objective of the conference was to create a platform for all delegates from international organizations and institutions to share experiences, discuss potential cooperation models, and seek investment opportunities in the education sector. Furthermore, the event aimed to enhance state management efficiency and improve the quality of investment promotion activities in the industry.
Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyễn Văn Phúc attended and chaired the conference.
Delegates exchanged opinions, contributing proposals and recommendations to improve the policy system and mechanisms related to cooperation and investment in education. A special focus was placed on attracting foreign universities to open branches in Vietnam.
The International Education Investment Cooperation Forum 2024 marks an important step in efforts to expand and improve the quality of education in Vietnam. The event not only created opportunities for connecting domestic and foreign stakeholders but also demonstrated the Vietnamese Government’s strong commitment to promoting international cooperation in the field of education.
