Italian Government Scholarships (MAECI) for the Academic Year 2024-2025

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) offers scholarships for the academic year 2024-2025 to promote international cooperation in cultural, scientific, and technological fields, to foster the Italian language and culture, and to support Italy’s economic system in the world. These scholarships are available for study programs and research projects at Italian higher education institutions.

Scholarship Recipients:

• Master’s (Laurea Magistrale 2° ciclo): the Master’s program offers scholarships for a duration of 6 or 9 months.
• Arts (AFAM): Higher Education Programs in Arts, Music, and Dance (AFAM) provide scholarships for a duration of 6 or 9 months.
• PhD: the PhD program offers scholarships for a duration of 6 or 9 months.
• Research under Academic Supervision (Progetti in co-tutela): scholarships are awarded for a duration of 6 or 9 months for supervised research projects.
• Italian Language and Culture: advanced courses in Italian Language and Culture offer scholarships for a duration of 3 months.

Benefits: 

• The total support amount is 9,000 Euros.
• Health Insurance: Health insurance coverage for the entire duration of the scholarship.
• Tuition Fees: Full or partial waiver of tuition fees.

Academic Requirements:

• Eligibility: Only foreign students and Italian students living abroad with the appropriate educational qualifications can apply for admission to Italian Universities/Institutes.
• Age Requirements: must be over 18 and not exceed 28 years of age (for Master’s and AFAM programs) or 30 years of age (for PhD programs) by the application deadline.
• Language Proficiency: a minimum level of B2 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) in Italian or English, depending on the language of instruction.
