EXPERIENTIAL TRIP FOR HOA SEN ELITE STUDENTS
Implementing the training plan for the 2021 – 2022 school year, on August 12, 2022, students of the Faculty of Tourism – Hoa Sen Elite Class had a meaningful practical study tour of the subject History of the Communist Party of Vietnam. at Phu Loi Prison historical site, located in Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong province, under the guidance of lecturer in charge Nguyen Minh Quang.
During the field trip, Hoa Sen Elite class students learned more about the historical relics of Phu Loi prison, a national revolutionary historical relic. Phu Loi Prison was built by the puppet government of Ngo Dinh Diem around mid-1957 to imprison and torture revolutionary soldiers and patriotic Vietnamese people at that time. With the plot to invade the South, using demagogic tricks, terrorism, and the campaign “denounce communists, destroy communists”, America and Diem have committed countless crimes throughout the South of our country. To implement “it’s better to catch a mistake than miss it”, America and Diem built prisons and detention camps everywhere to imprison political prisoners, revolutionary soldiers, and patriotic Vietnamese people, including Phu Loi prison. According to witnesses who were imprisoned here, when they were imprisoned here, they were brutally beaten and tortured, and their diet was also extremely harsh and poor. Rice cooked with rotten rice, eaten with rotten fish, salt, and fish sauce containing maggots. Life is dirty, lacking water, lying in cells, tiger cages, and hard labor, when sick there is no medicine to treat… They also set up very harsh “24 prohibitions” to find ways to beat prisoners unjustly. any time. In particular, we must mention the Phu Loi massacre that took place in late November and early December 1958, which was the peak of the crimes that America and Diem committed against the people imprisoned here. Phu Loi Prison is known as “hell on earth” because they apply the most cruel tortures.
The field trip of Hoa Sen Elite class students took place right on the occasion when people across the country were preparing to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 – August 19, 2022). ) and National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2022). Through this practical session, students have access to reality, have the opportunity to learn more about historical values, and review patriotic traditions, and the past heroic and indomitable struggles of the people. clan. The field trip of teachers and students of Hoa Sen Elite class has ended, but in each person’s mind, there are still nostalgic and truly touching memories. It can be seen that beyond the boundaries of the lecture hall – classroom, practical study tours open up favorable conditions for students to connect theory with practice, and the ability to interact with subjects directly.
