Seminar “Preventing crimes using high technology”

“On November 9, 2023, the Department of Economic Law, Faculty of Social Sciences – Law and LAWY Club – HSU Legal Club under the Faculty of Social Sciences – Law, Hoa Sen University organized a seminar with the topic “CRIME PREVENTION USING HIGH TECHNOLOGY”.

Seminar with the participation of speakers:

Speaker 01: Lieutenant Colonel, Master Pham Van Tu, Lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages ​​and Information Technology, People’s Security University shares an overview of the situation of crimes using high technology and legal regulations on prevention Fight crime using high technology.

Speaker 02: Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Anh Tuan, Head of Cyber ​​Security and Crime Prevention using high technology, Ho Chi Minh City Police presented the situation of crimes using high technology in Ho Chi Minh City and the practice of handling crimes using high technology.

Speaker 03: Dr. Nguyen Hoai Nam, Director of the Economic Law Program, Faculty of Social Sciences – Law, Hoa Sen University discussed the current state of state law on preventing crimes using high technology.

We live in the 4.0 technology era with strong development of information technology. Along with the development of technology, criminals using high technology are increasingly diverse and complex. Crime using high technology is a violation of criminal law, caused by people with criminal liability using digital devices and computer networks as tools, illegally attacking websites and databases. , computer, computer network, or telecommunications network intentionally or unintentionally, or use digital devices, computer networks, or telecommunications networks to commit other crimes or infringe upon national security. , social order and safety, endangering society, and the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and citizens. Crimes are committed by intentionally using high-level information technology knowledge, skills, tools, and means to illegally impact digital information stored, processed, and transmitted in the system. computer system, infringing on information security and order, damaging the interests of the State, the rights, and legitimate interests of organizations and individuals.

Through the seminar, students have the opportunity to research and practice theoretical and practical knowledge about crime prevention using high technology; Demonstrates the interest of the Faculty and the University in the quality of student training. At the same time, respond to Vietnam Law Day November 9, to affirm and deepen the purpose and meaning of Vietnam Law Day and the role of law in social life.
