CULTURE DAY 2024 – WHERE INTERNATIONAL CULTURES RECREATED BY HSU STUDENTS

On January 7th, the Culture Day 2024 event took place with a lot of students from Hoa Sen University (HSU) and esteemed faculty members. Featuring a series of diverse cultural activities, Culture Day provided participants with a multicultural and multilingual space right on the Thanh Thai campus of Hoa Sen University .

With the theme “Beyond Boundaries Within Hearts,” this year’s event was organized with 10 booths representing 10 different countries such as the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Thailand, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, China, etc. Students took it upon themselves to set up these booths, showcasing famous cultural symbols, traditional cuisine, traditional attire, entertaining games, fashion shows and musical performances representing each country.

Especially this year, there was a booth called “Hoa Sen University’s Old Quarter,” where the traditional Vietnamese Tet culture was vividly recreated colorfully. Students not only speacially received HSU Tet gifts but also have chances to relived childhood memories through traditional folk games such as shooting marbles, tying sỏi (a traditional game), throwing rings, and casting lots.

Culture Day is an annual cultural event and also a practical project of HSU English Languages Studies Program, carried out in collaboration with the HSU Chinese Language Club of Faculty of Languages and International Cultures. The event aims to provide participants with more opportunities to explore various aspects of language and culture from different countries.
