THE SEMINAR ON ENHANCING TEACHING SKILLS FOR CHINESE LANGUAGE INSTRUCTORS

Recently, the Faculty of Languages and International Studies at Hoa Sen University collaborated with SHZ Art Center of East China Normal University (Shanghai, China) to successfully organize the seminar titled “Enhancing Teaching Skills for Chinese Language Instructors.”

The seminar featured diverse topics where educators exchanged ideas, learned from each other’s experiences, and updated themselves with the latest advanced teaching methods. It attracted over 200 teachers and lecturers from various universities, colleges, primary schools, and language centers offering Chinese language programs.

In the first presentation, Professor Ye Jun (叶军), Vice Dean of the International Chinese Culture Academy at East China Normal University, Shanghai, and Deputy Director of the Global Chinese Language Development Research Center under the National Language Commission, presented a practical topic: the application of “Chinese Language Proficiency Standards in International Chinese Education” in teaching. Professor Ye shared insights into international Chinese teaching standards and offered practical experiences for application in Vietnam.

Next, Professor Ding Anqi (丁安琪), Vice Dean of the International Chinese Culture Academy and Deputy Director of the International Chinese Language Teacher Training Institute, presented on the topic of “The Integration of Standards and Policies: Analysis of the International Chinese Language Teaching Curriculum Outline.”

The final presentation was delivered by Professor Wu Yongyi (吴勇毅), Director of the Institute of Applied Linguistics and former Dean of the School of International Education in Foreign Languages at East China Normal University (Shanghai, China). He shared insights on “Research on Teachers and Teacher Development in Teaching Chinese.”

The seminar heated up during the discussion session where participants shared experiences and answered queries from fellow educators.

The seminar “Enhancing Teaching Skills for Chinese Language Instructors” was an insightful and practical event for educators, providing the latest knowledge and skills in the field of Chinese language teaching. It also created opportunities for teachers to network, learn from each other, and share experiences. It is hoped that after the seminar, educators will have new perspectives on professional skills and innovative teaching methods to bring outstanding results to students and learners.”
