WORKSHOP MASTER TALK 2 EP.3: “MID-YEAR FESTIVAL – Making Aromatic Pouches”
The Mid- Year Festival, celebrated on the 5th day of the 5th lunar month, is one of the significant traditional holidays in many East Asian countries such as Vietnam, China, South Korea, marking the transition between seasons and the midpoint of the year’s agricultural cycle. One of the customary activities to welcome the Double Fifth Festival is making scented sachets to hang in homes or carry with oneself. These small sachets come in various shapes and emit fragrant scents of herbs, which help protect against insects and pests, ward off misfortune, and promote better sleep.
In response to the atmosphere of this year’s Mid-Year Festival, the Faculty of Foreign Languages and International Studies (FFLIS), in collaboration with the Chinese Language Club, is organizing the third episode of Workshop Master Talk 2, themed “Mid-Year Festival – Making Scented Sachets”.
