Unlike Ms. Kim Linh, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Thanh (MBA Student Batch 11) started her business in 2019 but has the same thing in common: feeling lucky to participate in the MBA course of Hoa Sen University. To successfully complete the Master’s program, students need to enhance their research skills, actively engage with their Supervisors, and develop ideas for their research topics. During the program, Dr. Huynh Van Tai – Director of the Master’s program in English Language also suggested to students the research process, how to search for scientific literature, and the requirements for academic citations.

Dr. Doan Minh Chau – Director of the Postgraduate Institute & Leadership stated: “Over the years, the Master’s programs at Hoa Sen University have attracted a large number of interested students. Not only are they practical, but many theses have also been developed into scientific articles and published in reputable journals both domestically and internationally.”

After attending and listening to the master’s thesis defenses in the Business Administration specialty on January 22, 2024, Ms. Doan Anh Tai (MBA student, Cohort 11) shared, “I’m preparing to start my final courses and still don’t know which topic to choose or where to start. Especially after today’s session with the council’s critiques and defenses, I realized that a master’s thesis is not just a simple report or course but a scientific research project aimed at a specific subject matter and achieving definite results after the study.”

At the Master’s Thesis Defense Council for MBA students, apart from the defending students, there were also many students from other classes attending to learn and gain experience. Ms. Ta Hoang Vy (MBA student, Class 13) – Owner of HAVIKO Store shared: “Through today’s master’s thesis defense session, I realize that I need more practical experience to understand my topic thoroughly so that I can confidently argue before the Council. I hope my thesis will have practical application value in my work and contribute to society.”
Understanding the concerns of those engaged in scientific research, the Postgraduate Institute & Leadership organized the event MEETING AT THE END OF THE YEAR & MINI-TALK: 3 STEPS TO PREPARE AN EXCELLENT MASTER’S THESIS & SCIENTIFIC PAPER.

The working session took place in a lively atmosphere, and both sides agreed to focus on fostering close cooperation to develop quality human resources and meet the increasingly diverse trends of e-commerce. Through this collaboration opportunity, both parties hope to create opportunities for training personnel, organizing international seminar programs, opening internship and job introduction opportunities, as well as business field trips both domestically and internationally for students and learners.

With the spirit of promoting entrepreneurship and the value of practical learning in HSU’s training programs, along with VECOM’s network, the collaboration promises to provide students and learners with international-standard practical experiences. It also aims to cooperate in training quality human resources, actively contributing to the sustainable development of the country.

Recently, Ms. Camille Williams – an English Language Fellow from the U.S. Consulate General / English Language Office, shared her practical experience and analysis of common classroom evaluation methods in the Foreign Language Teaching program during a meeting with faculty and students of the Master’s in English Language program at Hoa Sen University. She shared, “Each method has its own advantages and disadvantages. Teachers should choose appropriate methods and explain them in detail so that learners can understand the course objectives. Besides imparting language knowledge, we also aim to help students develop soft skills such as presentation, argumentation, planning, etc., so that each individual can progress and enhance their self-management abilities.”

Teachers and students engaged in lively discussions, exchanging the methods they have been using and experimenting with in their classes. Ms. Camille Williams enthusiastically addressed and advised everyone’s concerns and inquiries. The workshop was an opportunity for faculty, master’s students, and those interested in the teaching field to meet, exchange academic ideas, and broaden their perspectives.

Among the distinguished new Masters is Mr. Le Huu Hoa Loc, who achieved the highest academic standing in the English Language Studies major and currently serves as the Legal – Administrative & Human Resources Director of Thien An Education Services & Development Company Limited. Notably, Master Hoa Loc previously graduated as valedictorian in Bachelor of International Commercial Law. His passion for teaching languages motivated him to pursue the English Language major at the Master’s level, where he once again secured the title of Valedictorian despite starting from a different major. The skills and knowledge acquired from the Master’s program in English Language Studies, coupled with his profound legal expertise, have greatly contributed to Master Loc’s success in establishing and managing his family’s Foreign Language Center.

Representatives of the new Masters, including Valedictorian Hoa Loc, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Board of Directors and teachers, as well as their families, for their unwavering support and encouragement throughout their academic journey. Master Hoa Loc shared his personal journey, stating, “Two months before graduating with a Bachelor of International Commercial Law, I received a job offer at an English Center in Thu Duc as a legal consultant. During my time there, the inspiration from the teachers and the learning environment of English classes gradually fueled my passion for the language. Recognizing the limitations of my English skills, I embarked on a journey of self-improvement through self-study and language courses. Two years later, I left that center as Deputy Director to pursue my passion for teaching English. I am fortunate to have the support of my wife, a Bachelor of English Language, who has further strengthened my passion. Today, our Thien An English Center celebrates its 7th anniversary.”
