Office of Testing – Quality Assurance has achieved excellent results in the work of quality assurance and accreditation of higher education

On November 26, 2020, the Ministry of Education and Training held a conference to summarize the work of quality assurance and accreditation of higher education and pedagogical colleges at Van Lang University; At the same time, they exchanged and discussed directions and tasks for the assurance and accreditation of higher education institutions and colleges in the 2021-2025 period.

In the closing conference, the Office of Testing – Quality Assurance – Hoa Sen University was honored to receive the certificate of merit from the Minister of Education and Training with the title of unit with excellent achievements in the work of quality assurance and accrediting the quality of higher education and pedagogical colleges in the period 2011-2020.

In addition, Dr. Phan Thi Viet Nam – Head of Office of Testing – Quality Assurance – Hoa Sen University was also honored to receive a certificate of merit with the title of individual with excellent achievements in quality assurance and accreditation of higher education and pedagogical colleges quality in the period 2011-2020.

Since 2011, HSU’s the Board of Directors and the Board of Presidents have determined that the accrediting and assessment of education quality (at program level and institution level) is one of the most important tasks in quality assurance and building a quality culture within the University. To carry out this goal, since 2011, the Office of Testing – Quality Assurance has actively implemented (1) organizing training sessions for units to understand self-assessment work, (2) implementing self-review, current situation assessment, (3) implementation of improvement plans to meet assessment standards, and (4) improvement of the internal quality assurance system.

In the general context of the continuous change in the principles of quality assurance and the set of assessment standards as well as the organizational structure and development orientation at the University, the Office of Testing -Quality Assurance has encountered many difficulties in perfecting internal quality assurance system, implementing quality assurance work, especially collecting HSU’s information, data, evidence and the cooperation of faculties in the process of self-assessment and external assessment. However, thanks to the encouragement of the Board of Presidents, the efforts of the departments in general and the unceasing efforts of the staff of the Office of Testing – Quality Assurance in particular, the difficulties have been overcome and achievements have been achieved good results:

1. Accreditation at program level:

– 5 programs that achieved ACBSP accreditation in 2015 including: Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Finance and Banking, Accounting.

– 2 programs that met AUN-QA standards in May 2019 including: English Language Studies and Hotel Management.

2. Accreditation at Institution level: Hoa Sen University has officially assessed the Institution level by Center for Education Accreditation – Association of Vietnam Universities and Colleges in November, 2019 and received the certificate in February 2020.

3. Starting assessment with QS-Star organization: Hoa Sen University has completed the stage of providing proof as required by QS-Star.

Over the past 10 years, the Office of Testing – Quality Assurance has built a complete system of documents on quality assurance work (from the quality assurance strategic plan, quality policy, quality assurance regulations/processes, quality handbook…) and a system of documents on quality survey to guide and organize the implementation of quality assurance work at the University.

The Office of Testing – Quality Assurance created a system to store transparent information over the years on website to help access information quickly and conveniently.

Communication activities on quality assurance were also carried out with the establishment of the office’s website (//dbclkt.hoasen.e-sexcash.com/) to provide the most complete information on quality assurance activities to society as a whole. Besides that, it is also a channel for the school to exchange with other universities, domestic and foreign accrediting organizations. Quality culture was initially formed and developed at Hoa Sen University.

Receiving a certificate of merit from the Ministry of Education and Training in the work of quality assurance and accrediting the quality of higher education is an honor for Hoa Sen University and is also a motivation for HSU’s individuals, collective continues to strive and make efforts in the work of quality assurance and accrediting education quality.
